Jack Out of the Box Designs is a web design and graphic design company, specializing in creation of online and printed materials for small businesses, non-profits, professional organizations and individual entrepreneurs.
Owner and chief designer Erin Hyland was inspired to launch her company in 2005, about a year after giving birth to her son Jack, who spurred her to think outside the parameters of traditional worklife and come up with a better solution. Jack and his little sisters, Anna and Leah, continue to challenge and inspire their mother each and every day.
Before starting the company, Erin Hyland worked for six years as an award-winning page designer and art director at several newspapers, including The Washington Times in Washington, D.C. She also worked at a small graphic design firm outside Philadelphia for two years.
Along with her husband, writer and editor Tim Hyland, she majored in journalism at the Pennsylvania State University in University Park, graduating in 1998.
When she's not working on client projects or enjoying her silly kids, Hyland can be found running the trails near her home office just outside Philadelphia.
